"Braindead" is a 1992 horror-comedy film directed by Peter Jackson (yes, the guy who later made The Lord of the Rings). Set in 1950s New Zealand, the story follows a shy young man named Lionel who lives with his overbearing mother. As the infection spreads, Lionel tries to keep everything under control by hiding the undead — but chaos erupts. What follows is one of the goriest, most over-the-top zombie bloodbaths ever put on film, featuring exploding heads, lawnmower massacres, and gallons of fake blood.

Despite the extreme gore, the tone is ridiculous, cartoonish, and even hilarious at times. "Braindead" has become a cult classic for fans of splatter films and is often praised as one of the goriest movies ever made, all while being strangely charming and fun.
