Delusions of Grandeur (La Folie des Grandeurs) is a 1971 French-Spanish historical comedy directed by Gérard Oury and starring Louis de Funès, Yves Montand, Alice Sapritch, and Karin Schubert. Don Salluste, the King's ruthless Minister of Finance, abuses his position to extort money from the people. Hated by the Queen, he is eventually expelled from the royal court through her influence. When his noble nephew, Don César, refuses to take part in the plot, Don Salluste turns to his loyal servant, Blaze. Secretly and hopelessly in love with the Queen, Blaze is thrust into the role of a charming prince as part of the conspiracy. What follows is a whirlwind of misunderstandings, disguises, romance, and comic chaos, as Blaze finds himself caught between his master's vengeance and his own feelings for the sovereign.
