Persepolis is a French animation film based on the homonymous graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi directed by Vincent Paronnaud. It obtained a candidacy for the Palme d'Or and won the Jury Prize at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. The plot revolves around an Iranian girl who testifies to the fundamentalist control of her country and rebels against her strict policies, especially those concerning women.
