The supposed outcome of the Dude Love vs Brian Pillman that was about to take place that night is unknown. Based on the storyline thus far, Goldust would interfere in some way, still trying to save his beloved Marlena from the hands of the Loose Cannon.
Last night, on 4 October 1997, Goldust and Pillman faced each other on a House Show in Minnesota, where the Bizarre One emerged victorious.
I quote Dustin's words from his book Cross Rhodes: Goldust out of the Darkness: «Brian was too messed up to work. I don't know what he was taking, but he could barely walk. I remember thinking, "I'm going to have to protect him out there at the same time I've got to protect myself".»
Unfortunately, Brian Pillman was found dead in his hotel room from a heart attack on the very next day, ending the storyline in the worst way possible.
