The Artist is a French drama and romantic comedy film in the style of a silent film in black and white. It is written and directed by Michel Hazanavicius, it stars Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo. The story takes place in Hollywood, between 1927 and 1932, and is focused on the relationship of an old silent film star and a successful young actress, when silent movies went out of fashion and were replaced by sound movies. Oscar for Best Picture in year 2011.
