Stef Foster, a police officer, a school vice principal, along with her partner Lena Adams, have assembled a closeknit family with Stef son by a previous union, Brandon, along with their twins that were adopted, Mariana along with Jesus. Their lives are disrupted in unexpected manners when Lena meets Callie, a hardened teen with an abusive past who has spent his lifetime in and out. Stef and lena welcome her brother, Jude along with Callie, into their home believing before a more permanent placement are available, it for a couple weeks. But life has something available to the Fosters.
